1. Rewrite the following paragraph using proper quotation marks.
2. Write a short story about a time that you went to a store to buy things and the "weirdest thing" happened!?!
The story must include the following punctuation:
- indent all new paragraphs using TiP ToP
- "Use quotation marks for dialogue between people," said Mrs. Troup.
- Use colons to show: time, a list of actions, and/or items.
- Use commas to: separate items in a list, separate adjectives describing something, in compound sentences to separate FANBOYS and bracketing adding additional information given.
- Use a semicolon to replace a FANBOYS sentence; it will make your writing more interesting.
- Proper capitalization.

1. Students are to write 2-3 sentences that contain a variety of different parts of speech. They are to parse them using the Montessori colours and grammar symbols below.
b) They are to check their sentences for accuracy using the link button below.
c) They can then write their sentences on the multi-colour parsing strips in the parsing bin.
d) They are to use pencil first, then go over it in black sharpie marker.
e) They are to put their "Control of Error" on the back of the parsing strip (IN PENCIL) with their correct Montessori symbols above each of the parts of speech (IN COLOURED PENCIL, NO MARKER AS IT WILL BLEED THROUGH)

ASSIGNMENT #2: Complete the study package the I have printed off for them. There are reminders below for what interjections, prepositions and conjunctions are, as we have talked about them, but I hadn't posted examples. You can go through them with the class.
